About Us

Sensing the need for a professional body to take up the fund management affairs of the Kerala State Public Works Department, the Government of Kerala constituted the Kerala Road Fund Board primarily to oversee and manage non-budgetary funds and to deploy such funds to implement innovative roads and other related infrastructure. The Kerala Road Fund Board aims to bring in greater private sector participation into developmental activities like:

  • Promoting Public Private Sector participation in Infrastructural projects
  • Funding Feasibility Studies for Innovative Road Projects
  • Constructing new roads wherever necessary
  • Implementing Road Safety Projects as are found essential for safe and smooth movement of traffic
  • Funding Research related to maintenance and development of roads
  • Developing existing road network systems including upgrading roads maintained by the PWD
  • Implementing futuristic projects like Rapid Transit Systems and Metro Rail Projects in Cities

The KRFB has at its helm a handpicked team of officers brought together from various departments with untainted service history and proven expertise and reliability in their respective areas of functioning. This enables KRFB to function effectively in all respects and red tapism associated with most government departments is unheard of at KRFB. This makes KRFB easier to be associated with for its Concessionaires
